Overview
FlashFXP is a FTP, FTPS, SFTP client for Windows. The following guide will show how to setup an FTP or SFTP connection to your (mt) Media Temple services using FlashFXP.
Requirements
Before you start, be sure you have these handy:
- Server name: Your access domain or example.com. example.com or your IP address.
- Username: Your FTP username.
- Password: Your FTP password.
Please see FTP and SFTPFTP and SFTP to learn how to find these settings.
Instructions
1. Start FlashFXP.
2. Click on Sites.
3. Click on Site Manage, see Figure 1:

4. Click on New Site, see Figure 2:

5. Type in your domain then click OK, see Figure 3.

6. Enter your server settings in the General Tab, see Figure 4 as reference:

Site Name: example.com or s00000.gridserver.com
IP Address: example.com or s00000.gridserver.com
Port: 21 for FTP, 22 for SFTP
User Name: example.com
Anonymous: Do NOT check
Password: Please see Server Administrator in your AccountCenter.
Remote Path: /domains/example.com/html/
Local Path: This is optional.
Proxy Server: Default or None
Time Zone: Unknown Time Zone/ Use Server Time

Port: 21 for FTP, 22 for SFTP
User Name: domainuser
Anonymous: Do NOT check
Password: Your password.
Remote Path: /var/www/example.com/httpdocs/ or httpdocs/
Local Path: This is optional.
Proxy Server: Default or None
Time Zone: Unknown Time Zone/ Use Server Time
7. Select these settings in the Option Tab, see Figure 5:
Use site IP for passive mode connections:
Disable "Force Active Mode to use this IP" for this site":
Send anti-idle keep alives:

8. Click Connect to finish.
SFTP Setup Instructions
The only difference in setting Flashftp to use SFTP is in step 6 change the port # to 22. You will need to have SSH enabled for your FTP user.
