Plesk Health Monitor is an additional Panel component that tracks all main server health parameters, including, but not limited to:

  • Memory and CPU usage by different services
  • Hard disk utilization
  • Number of running processes

Plesk Health Monitor can also be configured to send visual and e-mail notifications when certain server parameters exceed specified thresholds.

  1. Connect to your server using SSH.
  2. Execute the following command to begin installation:

  3. From the "Welcome to the Parallels Installation and Upgrade Wizard!" screen, hit the Enter key to continue. If you do not wish to install at this time, you can also select "Q" followed by the Enter key.
  4. Hit Enter to continue with the installation through the next three sections: the "Select product software source" screen, the "HTTP Proxy Setup" screen, and the "Select the desired products and their versions" screen.
  5. From the product selection screen, select option 5:

  6. Select "Enter" to proceed at the " Main components list for Parallels Plesk Panel" screen.
  7. Plesk Health Monitor requires approximately 1GB of disk space. Verify that your server contains the necessary disk space at the "Determining the amount of free disk space" screen, then select "Enter" to continue. Select "Enter" again, at the "Preparing Your System for Product Installation" screen, to continue the installation process. You will receive a confirmation once the software has been installed:

  8. Log into the Plesk Control Panel to access the Plesk Health Monitor.

If you upgrade your DV server and you're running Plesk version 10.3.x or earlier, the Health Monitor will not automatically acknowledge the increase in resources. You'll have to execute the following command via SSH:

    /usr/local/psa/bin/sw-engine-pleskrun /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/scripts/setup-health-monitor.php

Uninstalling the Plesk Health Monitor

To uninstall the Plesk Health Monitor from your server, execute the following command via SSH:

yum remove psa-health-monitor sw-collectd

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the uninstall process.
