How do I edit my domain's WHOIS information?

Overview

The term WHOIS is a query and response protocol used to find information on domain names, IP addresses, domain hosts, and networks. This is publicly accessible information.

NOTE:
Attempting to update the REGISTRANT information may result in the need to perform domain verificaiton via email. If you do not have access to the CURRENT and NEW registrant email addresses, please contact support by opening a support request, starting a chat, or by calling us at 1.310.841.5500 before attempting a WHOIS update.

Requirements

This tool is only available for a domain that has been registered through (mt) Media Temple. For more information on registering a new domain, please see: How do I register a new domain?

Instructions

1. Sign in to the Account Center.
   
   
   • For Grid Personal, Pro, and Elite users, click on the blue ADMIN button associated to your Grid server.
     
     
     
     
   • Under SITES, click on the domain you wish to edit.
     
     
     
     
   • For (gs) Grid Service or Grid Lite users, simply click on the domain you wish to edit.
     
     
2. Under DOMAIN TOOLS, select Edit WHOIS Contact Information.
   
   
3. Click the button for the contact to update your WHOIS information.
   
   
   
   
4. Complete the form and click the save button to save your edits.

3. Under DOMAIN TOOLS, select Edit WHOIS Contact Information.

4. Click on Domains.
   
   
5. Click on the MANAGE button associated to your domain.
   
   
6. Under DOMAIN TOOLS, select Edit WHOIS Contact Information.
   
   
   
   
7. Click the button for the contact to update your WHOIS information.
   
   
   
   
8. Complete the form and click the save button to save your edits.
