Google Workspace Domain Verification

Overview

This article details how to verify your domain to use with Google Workspace. To fully access all of Google Workspace's features, you will need to complete this verification process. Google Workspace allows you to verify your domain using a number of different methods. In this example, we will be showing you how to use TXT verification, as this is the recommended method by Google. If you do not have access to your domain's DNS, you can find alternate domain verification methods here

Instructions

Be sure to check where your DNS is hosted and add the appropriate TXT record at that location when following these instructions.

1. Log into your Google Workspace account as the admin user.
2. If your domain is not yet verified, you will see this notification in the Dashboard of the  Admin Console. To begin the verification process, click on Verify Domain.
3. By default, you will be asked to verify using the TXT method. Select Continue.
   
   • You can select Or switch verification method to use an alternative method verification method.
     
4. Copy the TXT record.
   
5. In your Media Temple account, navigate to the Edit DNS Page for your domain.
6. Add the TXT record. Then select Save Changes.
   
7. Return to the verification page in Google Workspace and select Verify My Domain.
8. That's it! You may need to wait some time for the DNS to propogate.
