How to access the Recovery Console for VPS Hosting

Overview

Use the Recovery Console to regain access to your VPS server if you've been inadvertently locked out by a new firewall or iptables rule. You will need to know your server username and password to connect to your server via SSH.

REQUIRED:
If port 2224 is blocked, you can't access the Recovery Console. You can find information on unblocking port 2224 here.

Instructions

  1. Log into your Media Temple account.
  2. Select the blue ADMIN button associated to your VPS server.

  3. Select the Recovery Console tab.

  4. Select Launch Console. You can now SSH into your server to make necessary changes.
